Double vinyl LP pressing housed in a gatefold sleeve. Analog Africa presents a compilation of dancefloor grooves from Cabo Verde, revealing the mystery behind the island's cosmic synth sound. Located 350 miles off the coast of Western Africa, Cabo Verde (or Cape Verde) is an island country that was first incorporated as an overseas department of Portugal in 1951 before later attaining independence in 1975. This collection captures a vital musical period during the late '70s and early '80s when the introduction of synthesizers facilitated the modernization of local rhythms such as Mornas, Coladeras and the highly-danceable music style called Funaná, which had been banned by the Portuguese colonial rulers until 1975 due to it's sensuality. In the spring of 1968 a cargo ship containing instruments made by many of the leading companies in the field of electronic music - including Rhodes, Moog, Farfisa, Hammond and Korg - set out for Rio de Janeiro, where the Exposição Mundial Do Son Eletrônico Exhibition was going to be held. The expo was the first of it's kind, where companies were eager to present their newest synthesizers and other gadgets to a growing and promising South American market, spearheaded by Brazil and Colombia. However, the ship with the goods mysteriously disappeared from the radar on the same day it set sail. One can only imagine the surprise of the villagers of Cachaço, on the Sao Nicolau island of Cabo Verde, when a few months later they woke up and found a ship stranded in their fields 8 km from any coastline. Mystery permeated the event. Cosmic particles were said to have been discovered on the boat, where the bow of the ship showed traces of extreme heat similar to traces found on meteors. A team of welders arrived to open the containers. Hundreds of boxes contained keyboards and other instruments they had never seen before: and all useless in an area devoid of electricity. The goods were temporarily stored in the local church and the women of the village had insisted a solution be found before Sunday mass. It is said that charismatic anti-colonial leader Amílcar Cabral had ordered the instruments to be distributed equally in places that had access to electricity, which placed them mainly in schools. This distribution was the best thing that could have happened - keyboards found fertile grounds in the hands of curious children, who picked up the ready-to-use instruments. The children who came into contact with the instruments found on the ship were said to have inherited prodigious capabilities in understanding music and learning the instruments. One of them was the musical genius Paulino Vieira, who by the end of the '70s would become the country´s most important music arranger. Eight out of the fifteen songs presented in this compilation were recorded with the backing of the band Voz de Cabo Verde, led by Paulino Vieira, the mastermind behind the creation and promulgation of what is known today as "The Cosmic Sound of Cabo Verde." Tracks by Abel Lima, Antonio Dos Santos, Elisio Vieira, Americo Brito, Os Apolos, João Cirilo, Tchiss Lopes, Quirino Do Canto, Pedrinho, Fany Havest, Bana, José Casimiro, Dionisio Maioand António Sanches.

Great and comfy
Color: White
This is genuinely such a good chair and super comfy, the assembly was a little confusing at first but it’s very simple once you get started. I’m 5’2 and it’s nice and big, you can sit however you want and although it is expensive I do think it’s worth it. You can fully recline down to sleep if you wanted as well. It’s nicely designed and sturdy. Definitely get it if you are thinking about it!!

LIFE-CHANGING. The only chair you'll ever want or need.
Color: Black
So... This chair has absolutely changed my life. I don't often leave reviews, but this is WORTH IT. I want one in every room in my home. Just as the other reviewer with the 'life-changing chair' title to their review: I've had 100% the same experience - especially as someone who sits 3,000 different ways w/ ADHD lol. So, in addition to agreeing with all those comments... I'll just add a few more thoughts here to further convince you: - I received the Cream/Teddy one as a Christmas gift and have literally have looked forward to sitting it in for work every. single. morning. for work. - I *ALSO* purchased a second one in the black velvet one to gift to my partner and his experience has also been 'life-changing.' (The black velvet is definitely sleeker looking, almost a teeny slippery, but just beautiful fabric. Love it. A note here: the fabric came with a crease, which steamed out no problem.) - I sit and edit websites and photo/video everyday, all day, for work, and I also spend a good chunk of my time gaming with my partner. (Now we are *both* very comfortable for those longer 5+ hour sessions.) - Previously I had tried the viral criss-cross chair and while it was cute and great at first, it just didn't hold up and started causing numb spots on my lower back after ~2 hours. Not an all-day chair at all. This one has solved all back issues for me! Size: definitely big & the back is quite a tall height but it makes you feel cozy, supported, *and* you can lean back, recline, adjust every little bit you like, have space for a velcro cat, sit criss-cross or 3,000 other ways as a ADHDr trying to sit all day, lol, etc. -- all things I was looking for in an upgrade. For reference, it fits someone 5'5" to 6"5" just as comfortably. I'd say it feels on the bigger side for someone under 6 foot, but personally, I love that. It's like a real adult chair - much needed if you sit for 6+ hours a day. Leg rest: Easy to flip out, I love using this so you can sit cross cross AND lean back, or just as extra 'accommodate the cat' space. Noise level: the arms clicking down/adjusting is loud, but I don't find myself adjusting them all that often. Especially when my cat claims this chair first, anticipating the start of our work day. Comfort level: 100% and 2.5-3 months in, it's still going strong and I'm more obsessed each day. *To the store: THANK YOU for making this chair, please never stop. *To the person reading this review: BUY IT. Let this be the review to convince you - your cat will take over the chair and you'll have to fight over it, it's that comfy. I mean, they know best, do they not?

Beautiful sturdy, cozy chair, BUT…..
Color: White, Color: White
Updated review. I was so excited to get this chair that I jumped the gun and wrote the review prior to spending more time seated. I only have one issue, which is the back bottom of the seat cushion. That’s a big deal. It appears so thick, fluffy and inviting, however, when I sat in it for a couple of hours it completely went flat in the back feeling like I was sitting on a board. I’m 5’4” 180 lbs, which means my feet don’t touch the floor so adding a cushion will elevate me a little more. I’m OK with that but it’s going to ruin aesthetic of the chair which is which is not ok. I do love the idea of this chair. It’s design and the color. I wish the seat cushion had a zipper, which would eliminate my issue. I’d say if you’re someone who has to spend a lot of hours in this chair, you probably won’t like it. I do like the reclining back and the foot rest. It is comfortable to lay back but that doesn’t change the issue in the back bottom of the seat cushion. I absolutely love this chair, I didn’t want to get up. It’s beautiful and cozy. Assembly was easy as I’ve assembled chairs before. I changed the wheels to a double roller blade easy on hard wood floors. I also scotch guarded the entire chair. This chair is sturdy and well made.

just get it and stop second guessing
Color: White, Color: White
I reallllly love this chair. I almost talked myself out of it because of some of the bad reviews here and there but i’m glad i listened to a majority of the good reviews, because this chair is perfect. shipping: it was super fast. it came 5 days earlier than expected. I got it on a Monday when it said it’d be here on Friday packaging: double boxed and bubble wrapped. Didn’t find any dings or scratches on anything. all parts were there including instructions assembly: my boyfriend put it together in 40 minutes. We didn’t have any issues zipping up the back cover like other reviews said and he said it was easy instructions to follow, and easy to put together. size and comfort: it’s bigger than the pictures let on! I’m 5’3 135lbs and feel like I’m sitting on a giant cloud. The comfort is 10/10. I just had a chair with basicslly zero butt cushion which i cannot have while working from home 8+ hrs a day in a chair. Comfort was the most important for me and I finally can’t feel the flat seat under me. I can’t express how comfy it is. Functions: can move the arm rests up and down. adjust the back to tilt all the way back to a sleeping position or fully upright which i didn’t even realize was a function! The only thing with the armrests; if you’re wanting your pet on it (like advertised) when the arm rests is put down there is a big gap that isn’t comfortable for animals (as pictured) so I have to put a blanket or pillow there for my small dog to lay comfortably. I’m obsessed with the fact I can sit cross legged, normally, laying down, sprawled up, or legs up. I have room to sit however I want, and the foot rests helps a ton with feeling even more comfortable. Overall, I’d get this chair 10x over. Not only do I work from home and spend hours in a chair, but I spend additional time playing video games so a good quality chair is very important to me. This has began to help fix my posture and back and neck issues. Get it!!!

If You Sit Weird Like Me… Just Buy This Chair
Color: Galaxy Black
I work from home and spend a lot of time sitting for hobbies like Legos, PC games, and crafts—so a comfortable chair is a must. I LOVE this chair so far. I’ve always struggled to get comfortable in traditional office chairs, and the ability to move around is really important to me. With this one, I can easily cross my legs, use the footrest to stretch out with my knees bent, or just sit normally. I’m 5’4”, so my feet don’t quite touch the ground, but that doesn’t bother me since I’m constantly switching positions anyway. I’ll probably add a small pillow for extra back support and maybe fold a blanket for a bit more seat cushioning. It’s comfortable overall, but after long periods of sitting, you might start to feel it. The black sparkle version is MUCH cuter in person, and I’m so glad I went with it. A lot of reviews say, “don’t think about it, just get it”—and honestly, they’re right. I debated for a couple weeks before buying, and I have zero regrets. Assembly was easier than I expected. I tend to get frustrated putting things together, but this was pretty painless. One tip: check inside the cushioned back piece for the extra headrest part—you’ll need it to attach to the hard back before inserting it into the cushion. Once I figured that out, the rest was simple. The chair is a bit larger than a standard office chair and can feel a little bulky depending on your desk setup, but I actually like the extra space since I move around a lot while sitting. It feels sturdy and well-made. It’s also slightly warmer than a mesh chair, which I personally love because I’m always cold. I am just happy to find a chair that feels comfortable like a recliner and movable like an office chair.
